Bad Loss

There is nothing good anyone can say about the Eagles TERRIBLE loss against the Oakland Raiders yesterday. I could say a lot of bad things & I will but 1st a side bar. I hate kickers. I hate them more then any other part of sports. I hate everything about who they are & what they represent. They are not athletes, they do not have to go through the physical rigors that athletes have go through. They lose games and get glory and get no blame when they lose. There is always an excuse like, “If you have to rely on the kicker you deserve to lose”. Could you imagine saying that about ANY other position? If you have to rely on the free safety you deserve to lose. If you have to rely on you left guard you deserve to lose. Every other position has a responsibility to be good at their jobs except for kickers who have the easiest job in all of sports. The Eagles played dreadful but the player who played the worse was David Akers. For all the faults the Eagles had, and there were many, if Akers makes 2 kicks inside of 45 yards with no wind and great weather the Eagles win. Same thing goes for Baltimore playing in a dome & even the Bills who could have won in regulation. I hate kickers.

Position Grades:

Quarterback: D - I would rate McNabb lower but he was under siege the entire game. He got hit on almost every play and dropped back 46 times while they ran only 14. Peyton Manning would have had trouble with this game, although I would imagine his grade would have been a B.

Running Back: B - Westbrook was great but McCoy was bad, and still is struggling against the blitz. In Andy Reid’s offense he will see his playing time reduced if he can’t block better.

Wide Recievers: C - They didn’t play bad but they did drop passes. They had man to man coverage on them almost the entire game without the best cornerback in football and still failed to make a play. It wasn’t all their faults as McNabb missed many receivers but they did nothing to pick him up.

Tight End: C - Celek didn’t have a great game and had a few drops, he also blocked terrible. McNabb did miss him a few times as well.

Offensive Line: F - This was the worse performance by an offensive line I have ever seen. Andy Reid didn’t help them much by passing so often but they didn’t block anyone. If was like a high school team playing against pros. The Raiders STINK and they kicked the Eagles line’s butt ALL day long. Jason Peters injury would be an excuse if only King Dunlap sucked, but they all sucked.

Defensive Line: D - They got their butts kicked almost as bad as the offensive line. They did get some pass rush but they also let Justin Fargas gash them & that was a Raiders offensive line without 2 starters.

Linebackers: F - Cut Trotter. He can’t play. He is the reason they scored a 86 yard touchdown. I don’t care if the young guys look bad in practice you have to cut Trotter NOW.

Defensive Backs: B - They didn’t play badly. They actually made a few plays as well. I can’t blame them for the loss.

Kicker: ZERO - You can’t miss 2 field goals EVER. You don’t have to block. You don’t have to learn plays. You don’t have to worry about contact. You just have to kick, so kick.

Things to Do When Eagles Have Bye Week

1. Watch other football games, Philadelphia fans are very into the Eagles but sometimes neglect other teams.
2. I know you are looking for a #2 but there is none. Your job as a football fan is to watch football on Sunday. Don’t clean the gutters, don’t rake leaves, don’t cut grass, you watch football. If you aren’t an NFL fan then give up your Eagles fan card. You are one of the people that give Philadelphia fans a bad name with you’re lack of knowledge.
